WASTE TO ENERGY
- American Renewable Energy Associates (AREA) is in the business of converting municipal solid waste (MSW) to electrical power and reducing the need for Landfills. AREA power production is specifically designed to meet renewable energy criteria.
- The average American produces about 4.4 pounds of garbage a day, 29 pounds a week and 1,600 pounds a year. This does not count industrial waste or commercial trash.
PROBLEM
- As much as we love recycling, we can't do it fast enough and it has come nowhere close to solving our burgeoning production of garbage.
- Landfills use space that could otherwise be used for outdoor recreation or other community functions. Landfills will continue to require increased risk mitigation such as liners which dramatically increase the associated costs to either upgrade existing landfills or implementation of new landfills.
- Electricity costs are expected to double over the next several years and the cost of petroleum products continues to rise.
- Population growth will likely limit space available for future landfills.
SOLUTION
- Waste to Energy (WTE) can convert tons of Municipal Solid Waste to either electricity or fuel for consumer use.
- Waste to Energy (WTE) assists in alleviating energy shortages.
